See’s Truffles
January 19th, 2009 . by Erin The GreatI have arrived! I have finally arrived!! Every Christmas in my family the ‘adults’ (I use this term loosely) in my family get the 1lb box of ‘See’s Candy’. Now since I’m in my twenties, I have been getting the 1 lb box for a few years now, but it wasn’t until now, that I got the 1lb box filled with the truffles.
I may have die and go to heaven because my life has reached it’s pinnacle. See’s Truffles are really really good! They are so good in fact that one year during our infamous ‘Jarvis Family Gift Exchange’ my Uncle Bob received such a box. Thinking he had outsmarted us all by threatening our lives, should the idea to steal ’said’ box of truffles away from him occur to any of us. After the last gift was claimed he opened the little See’s box and saw to his dismay that my extremely clever Aunt had changed out the truffles in another container and put little individual wrapped Snickers Bars in it’s place… Up until this moment I had never seen my Brooding Uncle cry, this was disturbing and I hope to never see it again! My dad turned out to be the lucky recipient of the See’s Truffles and I believe my Uncle is still in therapy after that occurance. (It’s a story that doesn’t get brought up a lot for my Uncles sake…It could have been worse, he could have ended up with the Electric Blue stripper thong (don’t ask)).
Needless to say I am happily tucked away in Texas where nobody in my family can try and con me out of my See’s Candy. I was talking to my Uncle Bob via Webcam and almost pulled out my See’s Truffles just to taunt him, but I decided to be a good niece and refrain.
I still have a See’s gift card to use. Truffles are delicious!

I am so jealous. So jealous. I think I have to go to See’s tomorrow and get some of my own. Buying them for yourself just isn’t the same, though-is it?
Man! if only I were such a big chocolate fan. (I’m not) so you get to enjoy your truffles all to yourself.
Truffles are SOOOOOOO good!! And I love See’s. My favorite that they make is the Scotchmallow. It is caramel and marshmallow covered in chocolate and it is TO DIE FOR!!

I think your decision to not taunt was best. If he wasn’t already in therapy, he would be after.
I think I might have to look for some of this candy, just because it seems to be a source of pure happiness.

And face it, if your not going to explain some of our more interesting facts of family life, you might want to lay off the blue stripper thong… I think their student got it this year… better than Viola!!

i thought you were going to say you no longer had to sit at the “kid’s table” during family dinners.
they try to make me sit there because i’m not married.
that’s when i just go to the cheesecake factory and eat all by myself.
