Anyone Know How to Stop Time? Anyone?

January 13th, 2009 . by Erin The Great

Ok, I’m back… for real this time. I know I keep saying that but I am officially back except for about a week at the end of this month. I have to do another Windows re-install. Stupid Windows!! Hey Bill Gates… I hope you enjoy your love seat in hell!

So anyway, I was on Facebook yesterday when I got an invite for a group regarding my graduating class of 2000. Then I realized that it is 2009…Uh…after a little math, a massive lump in my stomach and a little dry heaving I realized that I’ve been graduated from high school for almost 10 years!! Where has the time gone?? Seriously! Someone tell me where 9 years of my life has gone? It doesn’t feel like that long ago I was walking through the very same building that my grandmother (my mom’s mom), grandfather (my dad’s dad), my father, 2 uncles and an aunt had graduated from. I was thinking back at my horrifically bad taste in clothes, as well as my natural blonde (it hadn’t gone dark yet) hair, my locker that was packed to the hilt with Dr. Pepper and junk food (ok, some thing’s don’t change), my friends especially Mel. Here’s the thing. I don’t know if I’m really ready to see EVERYONE again. Most of the friends I had in High School, I still have today so what’s the point?

I don’t know if I’m ready to be reminded of how mean I was to people. Not really mean in an ‘I hate you all’ type of way, but rather I had pretty much no tolerance for anyone because I was trying to figure out why I was so miserable…Thank you depression! Ugh! I would be lying if I said I was jazzed about this news. Maybe next year I’ll be more apt to accept the inevitable.

Yeah, good luck with that. I refuse to go to any of my reunions because I was a loser.

I graduated the same year as you did - and it’s totally crazy it’s almost been A FREAKING DECADE. And seriously, like my life has changed all that much. Bah Humbug.

I didn’t go to mine because I wasn’t ready to see everyone yet. Mine was 2 years ago. Maybe in another 8 at my 20 year?

Uuuummmm….I have been out of school TWICE as long as you–that’s right 18 years this year. WHAT THE CRAP!? I haven’t gone to any of the reunions because a)the first one was a train wreck (per freinds that went) and b)I could care less about most of those people.

You can stop time by going really, really fast. If you reach the speed of light you will effectively stop yourself from aging.

p.s. My reunion is this year. I’m only going if I’m a millionaire by then so I can shove it in all their faces.

I know how you feel, I just got an invite to my 10 yr reunion for this summer. I HATED h.s. the only reason I might go is to see how worse off other people are than me, lol. Actually, I already know of a couple of those, just because they happen to report to the probation office I work at…no that’s akward, lol.

I’m way older than you. 8 years to be exact. Wow, I’m old.

Not that I was invited to my 10th, if they had it, but I SO do not know if I would want to see those jerks…er kids…again! EVER!

I had my 10 year reunion in 07. I had a really really good time! My high school was (and still is) thought of as the “snobby, rich kid school”. And, yeah, alot of the students there did have well off parents. My parents did ok, but nothing like some of those kids. But, I digress.

Anyway, 10 years later and we had all done some growing up and the “cliqueness” had gone away. It was fun. It wasn’t awkward or forced or anything. It was just fun.

My ten year reunion is in 2013 - I probably won’t go, but I graduated with 21 other students and my closest friends were a year above and a year below me.

I’ve always kind of wanted to have the opportunity to go to a big highschool reunion!

10 years, thats crazy! You should go so everyone can droll over your beauty:) What do people actually do at high school reunions anyway?

Anna - I think you give me far too much credit… I’m not the one who has popped out 3 kids and still looks like a Rock Star!

I don’t know if I’ll go. I guess Mel has at least a year to try and talk me into it!

My twenty year reunion just came and went (and I think that makes me the old lady here in the comments!) and I didn’t go. I didn’t attend the ten year either.

The friends I would want to know about I am still in touch with anyway, either IRL (same best friend since 14!) or through Facebook, the high school reunion of the internets.

If you decide to go, go big and make it worth it!
