Twilight

May 10th, 2008 . by Erin

Where did the time go?? On Tuesday I sat down to read the book ‘Twilight’ and before I knew it, I’d read all three books. Now it’s Saturday and here I sit absolutely mystified as to where my week went. Not that the week of seclusion wasn’t nice, because it was but more rather now my standards have absolutely shot through the roof as far as men I’m now willing to date.

For any female that has read these books, should have a massive crush on the beautiful, romantic and down right chivalrous Edward Cullen. I was absolutely fascinated by the writing and the story as I read on and on and on…. I’m a little ashamed to admit that I haven’t exactly showered in a few days… don’t you dare judge me! I was so entranced with the stories that I would get upset with anyone who tried calling, texting or who would just show up at my door! (Don’t worry Ashton you’re exempt). I even went so far as to yell at anyone who dared to knock on my front door. Sorry to those of you that I yelled at to ‘leave me the hell alone’. If you’ve read the books, you’d understand and you would have granted me the serenity and peace as I became permanently ingrained in the story.

I know what you ‘unbelievers’ are thinking. You people who refuse to read the books because ‘everyone else is doing it’… well to those people I say pull your head out of your butt and read the friggin book already and while you’re at it, stop judging the people who have no problem disappearing for 4 straight days to read the ‘Genius’ of Stephanie Meyers.

To all you faithful readers I say booyah! Don’t fret ladies! Edward Cullen may not exist but I do know that men like that do! (Not specifically vampires) but wonderful, sweet, chivalrous and downright amazing men do exist! I’ve known as well as currently know many, and have even had the pleasure to have dated a few of them. Love like that IS real and I defy anyone who tells me other wise… poor fools… sell it somewhere else because I’m not buying your weird brand of romantic atheism.

I am sure it was a divine experience. I live a romantically charmed life as is, and while I’m sure the book was wonderfully crafted, I will probably never read it. I’d rather read my current book, “The American Agent;” also one I would recommend. Probably doesn’t have quite the sensual romance, but it has romance.

Funny that you mention this. My mom finally convinced me to start the books. Twilight is sitting on my bed right now. I’ll probably crack into it tomorrow evening.

Also (even cooler) you absolutely HAVE to check out this song called ‘Undone’. My really good friend Kat wrote and sang in it. She wrote it and then recorded it with Ryan Schupe and various other local artists. It’s about Edward’s obsession with Bella.

I totally agree that the books were fantastic, and I am excited for the next one as well as the movie!

There are guys like that out there (hopefully a little less manipulative)!

Plan on reading it simply to see how my hubby looks in print-oh yeah ladies, there ARE guys out there who embody the ideals of romance novels-lucky lucky me ;-))))))

The books are fantastic. Her new one is just as good. The Host. I cried reading it. I’m so pathetic some times. I’m going to meet Stephenie Meyer tomorrow night at Thanksgiving Point.

You liked the trailer, huh? Yes, the flying thing is a little weird, but he also does run really fast. They just wanted to take them into the tree tops. We should totally rent out a theater for the premiere of the movie, and then sell tickets to everyone we know. That would be so cool.

I am sorry but anything (yes even books) that cause you to lash out voilently to those who are reaching out for friendship is evil. I am sure that I would get addicted to those books like I would get addicted to illict drugs. I am going to avoid both and before you rush to tell me about all the fun I am missing out on by not trying them and how I just have to do them to understand just know that you may not like what I have to say even though I say it with all my love.

Do men like Edward really exist? That is what I typed in google search and found your post. I’m glad to read you think so, and I’m hoping they do somewhere. I’m currently ending a long relationship with a very un-Edward like person, and I’m depressed thinking I may never have a guy who thinks I’m worth anything.

    Thanks for the post.
